Its time to vote for your Newgistics Player of the month for January.
A draw on New Years Day away at Cardiff, followed by three impressive wins against Newcastle Falcons, Section Paloise (Pau just in case that’s left you perplexed!) and Benetton Rugby has resulted in a home draw in the European Challenge Cup playoffs and a rise up the URC table.

Voting closes on Sunday February 2nd

Congratulations to Morgan Morris for winning the Player of the Season OSCA for the 2023-24 season!  Morgan now has an unrivalled three player of the season awards & has impressed again all season even amongst his magnificent back row peers at the club.

We can all (well – nearly all) see how he’s been the best number 8 in Wales for the past few years at club level, regularly breaking the gainline and putting in tireless efforts in defence -the stats speak for themselves (source https://theanalyst.com/eu/2024/01/club-rugby-stats-hub/

Its been a season to remember, reaching the playoffs in both the URC and Challenge Cup, winning an unprecedented four out of five games against South African opposition and finishing as the top Welsh team in the URC with several games to spare.

Its been a tough job shortlisting the player of the season OSCA nominees but we’ve narrowed it down to eleven – but for injuries limiting game time in black, white, charcoal, pink and green, there might have been some more extending this list even further.  Sorry if your favourite didn’t make the cut but with a 15 year age range and positions from 1 to 15 represented, there’s someone for everyone here to vote for!

Defying odds of 50 to 1 according to the URC (what do they know), the Ospreys marched into the URC playoffs before our season eventually came to an end against reigning champions Munster.  The team bounced back from a tough game in Dublin against Leinster to take a full 10 points from the remaining Welsh derbies, first at home to Dragons and then wrapping up the regular URC season with an epic Judgement Day performance against Cardiff.

We’ve shortlisted six players for the May-June vote.
